Have you read of the word pikachu before? Pikachu is really a pokemon from the Pokemon series of animation and the pokemon game kid games. Pokemon represents pocket monster, however in both the the sport and movement, the Pokemon really have a home in the pokeball not the pocket of the teacher, although the pokeball is most likely held in the pocket! (I always wonder how the instructor is ready to fit so many pokeballs into his pockets, particularly when you start to see the trainer in the pokemon anime reach into his pockets and sign up for a few pokeballs applying his hands!)

Now why I mentioned it is because Ash Ketchum's pikachu doesn't want to be kept inside a pokeball. To set things straight, Ash Ketchum is the principal character in the animated pokemon series. (If you perform Pokemon Yellow on the Game Boy, you'd also start off your pokemon experience with a Pikachu, much like Ash Ketchum in the Pokemon movement series). Ash Ketchum gets a Pikachu from Professor Oak, a professor who focuses primarily on pokemon. This pokemon is supposed to support Ash in his journey through the world of pokemon. Oh and another thing, there are many several pikachus in the world of pokemon. That means that Ash's pikachu isn't exceptional and other coaches may find their own pikachus too. Except the pokemon is a rare or exotic pokemon (such as Mew that there is only 1 Mew in the whole world of pokemon), then you can actually find the same pokemon where they live.

Now Ash and Pikachu didn't start off on the right foot. However as they experienced obstacles and when Pikachu understood what a good and kind coach Ash was, Pikachu gradually started to Ash and reciprocated Ash's friendship. I did not let you know that Pikachu is an electricity pokemon and therefore can use episodes such as thunder shock or thunder bolt which is lightning based. It can also use other episodes such as fast assault. Now at the start when Pikachu wasn't used to Ash, he would surprise Ash with his lightning attacks generally. However, Ash wasn't bothered with this particular and continued to show love for his Pikachu. Ash's pikachu was also particular in the perception that he refused to travel in a pokeball, preferring to travel on top of Ash's neck alternatively. Ultimately, they became the best of friends though.
